	SNL Opening Titles for Season 46


SNL is a cultural touchstone and its return has relevance as the world tries to reset. With the new opening, SNL wanted to recognize the extraordinary circumstances of the pandemic and show that NYC––which is practically a cast member itself––is still alive and ready to get through this. To capture this idea, the titles incorporate hand-drawn typography for the first time and have a more intimate, personal feel that reflects the current moment.

	New Brand for the Magic World&#38;nbsp;


Identity for the magical universe inspired by the vision of J.K. Rowling, bringing together the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises as one global umbrella brand.

The Wizarding World identity takes the form of a book whose fanned-open pages are actually nine wands belonging to iconic characters from the two franchises. The idea of the book captures the universe's literary origins, while also suggesting radiating light and optimism.Along with the wands, the typography in the logo brings together the graphic languages from each franchise and elements emblematic of the characters, including Harry Potter's iconic lightning bolt and beastly attributes of magical creatures. This extends to the a custom typeface called Harry Beast, that is used in promotional materials for the brand. It includes a standard version, and "beastly" alternates for each letter.

	The rebrand of one of the worlds biggest labels.


Branding and art direction for Warner Records, a Los Angeles based record label owned by Warner Music Group. They are one of the most iconic labels in the world with a roster to back it up. While the logo was inspired by the California sun, the design also required a simplicity that spans music genres. By utilizing a minimalist shape and then applying that shape to a variety of unique applications, the depth of artistic diversity at Warner Records is highlighted.

	Film Independent Spirit Awards
	Branding &#38;amp; Collateral&#38;nbsp;


The Film Independent Spirit Awards celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2020 with graphics that combined the glitz and shine of the awards with the grit and energy of independent film. An underlying goal over the years has been to elevate the look and feel of the Spirit Awards to bring them in line with other awards shows––but in a way that feels true to their indie, offbeat roots.&#38;nbsp;The metallic letterforms evoke the gleam and glow of awards shows, but avoid gold to instead use the Film Independent brand color palette reinterpreted in richer, jewel-like tones. The approach has depth like the previous year’s light-filled projections, but in a more material way, and feels more modern.

	Packaging for Snoop Dogg’s premium line of water pipes.
The packaging was designed to feel elevated and confident in it's spareness, visually relating to Snoop’s line of marijuana products, Leafs By Snoop. This packaging was developed to help reinvent the head shop and dorm room water pipe aesthetic, moving it into a more welcoming, clean visual language while still remaining true to the brand’s roots. Throughout the design process, considering the “unboxing” aspect was crucial, and informed placements of typographic surprise and use of color blocking. The back displays illustrated versions of the water pipes at actual size, and all boxes are accompanied by accordion-style “Flight Guides”.
